Consul General of Japan in Davao visits MSU-Gensan

Consul General of Japan in Davao, Hon. Yoshiaki Miwa, was welcomed by the Chancellor, Dr. Anshari P. Ali, and other MSU – GSC officials and gave a special lecture during his official visit in General Santos City on March 18 – 19, 2021.

On the first day, Con Gen Miwa’s visit commenced with a courtesy call of City Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera followed by the visitation of the Japanese bunkers in Brgy. Bula and Buayan. Thereafter, he had a meeting with MSU-GSC officials on a dinner at East Asia Royale Hotel to discuss possible future collaborations between the University and the Consulate General-Government of Japan. 

On the second day, Hon. Miwa visited the MSU-GSC College of Fisheries (CoF) Laboratory in Brgy. Siguel, together with COF professors headed by Dean Ariel T. Ortiz and other officials, after a short tour at GenSan Fishport (a JICA funded complex). Lastly, the Consul General visited the Fatima Campus and toured around the University Museum before giving a talk on “Foreign Diplomacy in Action: The Context of Finland in European Union” with participants from Political Science Department faculty and students, and Library staff.
