MSU-General Santos warmly received the advance delegation from Malaysia headed by Dr. Jamaloden Sahidan together with Dr. Alexander Sultan, President CEO of Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries in the Philippines last August 9, 2023.

An exploratory meeting was hosted in connection with the recent collaboration forged by the Malaysian Government and the Philippine Government. MSU General Santos’ lead role in this collaboration is crucial since it will look into all aspects of developments within the areas of concern involving communities, stakeholders, and prime mover and actors of the more impactful change and development in the country.

Participants of the conference included the City Government officials representing different offices like CMO, CEMCDO, ICCAD, other stakeholders like MEBBA, HICCIP, and other representatives from the business sectors who expressed optimism about this collaboration.

Ustadz Abdulhakim Sarigala, Vice President for HICCIP Mindanao, graced the Dua to open the Conference and followed by the warm welcome of Chancellor, JD Usman D. Aragasi, MPA. Meanwhile, Dr. Alexander Sultan introduced the Malaysian guest, Dr. Jamaloden Sahidan. Mr. Gandhi C. Kinjiyo, Assistant Division Head from LGU ICCAD, spearheaded the stakeholder’s presentation which was followed by an open forum.

Dr. Sahidan was more than excited to discuss this undertaking. He emphasized putting up more investments and opportunities in Mindanao while making sure these will reach the grassroots. He also highlighted the importance of sharing technology and digitalization through education which will demand good financial support. Dr. Sahidan informed the group that come October, a series of activities will jumpstart in realizing the proposals of the said collaboration.
