Mindanao State University-General Santos conducted its Academic Evaluation and Planning Workshop on February 8-10, 2021, at Camp View Lake Resort, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. Spearheaded by the Curriculum and Development Committee, the event aimed to evaluate the implementation of DB-Flex Learning approach during the 1st semester of AY 2020-2021 and to realign the subjects to be offered in the 2nd semester including the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year levels.
For the evaluation of the DB-Flex Learning implementation, Department Chairpersons and Deans of the different colleges of the University presented the results of the Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with faculty held prior to the three-day event. The FGDs involved the faculty members from their respective departments who shared their experiences and feedback on the conduct of their classes during the 1st semester. On the other hand, the FGD result with students was presented by representatives from the Supreme Student Council (SSC).The planning workshop included the realignment of the subject offerings for the 2nd semester, specifically the GEC and FPE 101 courses. This was a continuation of the same activity conducted in the 1st semester. Online plotting of subjects, online submission of grades, and introduction of the Faculty Portal were explained by Prof. Jose Trillo, ICTO Director. This was followed by the orientation on the process flow of enrollment by Prof. Tersa Castillo, the Registrar. The following heads and representatives of semi-academic offices also delivered updates and plans, namely: Mrs. Betty Celda for the MSU-GSC Library; Engr. Paisar Gadiaware for the Office of the Student Affairs; Ms. Hania-Persia Usman for the Guidance Office; Prof. Norman Ralph Isla for Darangen; Mr. Mamerto Herrera for UPCO; and Dr. Josh Elisha Octura for QUAMSO.
