The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 12 (CHEDRO 12) awarded the Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) of nine programs of the University in time for the opening program of the 1st MSU System Research, Extension, and Internationalization Summit at the Grand Summit Hotel last May 4, 2023.
The programs that received their COPC are the following: BA in Political Science, BA in Filipino, BS in Biology, BS in Information Technology, BS in Mathematics, BS in Accountancy, BS in Economics, BS in Business Administration – Human Resource Management, and BS in Business Administration – Marketing Management. The certificates were awarded personally by CHEDRO 12 Director, Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, and were received by Acting Chancellor, JD Usman D. Aragasi, MPA, and duly witnessed by MSU System President, Atty. Basari D. Mapupuno and attendees of the summit.
The Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) is a recognition that the degree program offered by a state university or college, local university or college is fully compliant with the policies, standards, and guidelines of CHED. This is in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 7722 otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994.”
The awarding of the COPC followed after a series of virtual and in-person inspections which ascertained the readiness and capability of the programs in terms of Administration, Faculty, Curriculum, Library, Laboratories, Student Services, Physical Facilities and other significant engagements. The Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) of CHEDRO 12 carried out a comprehensive review of the documentary requirements submitted by the programs as well as a series of interviews to dig deeper into the program’s compliance with CHED’s standards.
Receiving the COPC signifies that the programs of the University have lived up to reputable standards as validated by CHED. This assures its stakeholders that the University has consistently developed the quality of its instruction along with other success indicators relevant to its research, extension, and production capabilities. As it pushes forward with its other accreditation activities, the University maintains the same level of commitment to standards corollary to these certificates.
