17.2 Relationships to support the goals

OIC-Director of the Office of International Affairs, Prof. Anderson V. Villa, PhD, attended the Training of International Relations Officers (IROs) on November 26–27, 2024, at Champagne Hall, Greenstate Convention Center, Koronadal City. This activity brought International Relations Officers from different HEIs in Region XII together in order to give them the tools and knowledge required for their institutions’ advancement of internationalization processes and, at the same time, increase their competitiveness globally.
Distinguished speakers made a recent event full of insightful discussions on key issues in higher education and international relations. Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes, CESE, Regional Director of CHED MIMAROPA, presented an overview of international relations, global rankings, and sustainable development. Atty. Ednalyn Grace Viste and Ms. Ma. Celina Marino from CHED IAS shared their expertise in transnational higher education. Mr. Vinci Bueza from Ateneo de Davao University then conducted a session on the building of effective partnerships through strategic planning, identifying potential partners, and promoting sustainable development initiatives.
