Mindanao State University–General Santos conducted an On-Site Evaluation with representatives from the Commission on Higher Education – Office of Programs and Standards Development (CHED OPSD) for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) of the Master of Science in Management Engineering (MSME) and Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) on March 10–11, 2026, at the 2nd Floor Conference Room, Y Building.
In his welcome message, Dr. Noel Gunay, Dean of the College of Engineering, expressed the university’s readiness to collaborate with the evaluation team. “We welcome this evaluation as an opportunity to strengthen our college programs and continue advancing quality engineering education,” Dr. Gunay shared.
Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, also delivered a message of support, emphasizing the university’s commitment to continuous quality improvement.
The program also included the Introduction of MSU-General Santos Key Officials led by Prof. Monsour A. Pelmin, Ph.D., Director of the Quality Assurance and Management Services Office (QuAMSO).
As part of the evaluation, the CHED technical panel assessed the Master of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering programs under the College of Engineering. The evaluation team included Dr. Cristina Amor M. Rosales, Member of the Technical Panel for Civil Engineering, and Dr. Aldrin D. Calderon, Technical Evaluator for Mechanical Engineering.
The activity also involved an ocular inspection of university facilities, including the library, laboratories, and classrooms, to assess the adequacy of learning resources.
The program concluded with the presentation of findings by the CHED evaluation team, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Randy P. Asturias, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development.
Through initiatives such as the CHED-OPSD On-Site Evaluation, MSU-General Santos continues to strengthen its commitment to quality assurance and institutional development.
