The Mindanao State University – General Santos, represented by Chancellor Shidik T. Abantas, formalized its partnership with the Mindanao State University Alumni Association, Inc. (MSUAA), led by its President and Alumni Regent Samuel B. Sabenecio, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) aimed at strengthening alumni engagement and institutional development.
In his message, Chancellor Abantas emphasized the importance of establishing Bahay Alumni Within the campus. The initiative highlights the need for a dedicated space that will strengthen connections and engagement among graduates. The Chancellor reaffirmed the University’s full support for the project, recognizing its role in building a more connected and collaborative MSU community.
“It is time for our alumni to have a home within the University, a space that will not only serve as a place, but as a center for connection,” he said.
Meanwhile, Alumni Regent Samuel Sabenecio, in his message of commitment delivered on behalf of the Board of Regents, underscored the partnership as a meaningful milestone, one that carries far-reaching impact beyond the present, anchored on a shared vision for collaboration and service.
Present during the signing were key university officials and alumni leaders, MSU Alumni Association – MSU General Santos Chapter headed by Prof. Norman Ralph Isla, alongside its officers and board members, as well as former Alumni Regent Renato Bonia.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward building a stronger, more connected MSU community, empowering alumni relations and reinforcing the University’s commitment to inclusive growth and legacy-building.
