Mindanao State University – General Santos expresses its deepest grief and strongest condemnation over the brutal killing of Miyuki Tsukasa Kim, a graduating student from the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. Miyuki was found lifeless in her own home in Apopong, General Santos City- a tragedy that has shaken our entire university community.
No student, no member of our community, deserves to meet such violence.
MSU-GenSan stands firmly against any form of brutality, and we denounce this senseless act in the strongest possible terms. We call on the authorities to pursue the investigation with urgency, exhaust all means to bring the perpetrator to justice, and ensure that no family endures such pain again.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Miyuki’s family, friends, and peers in the University during this time of profound sorrow. The University is coordinating closely with security and law enforcement agencies, and we remain committed to fostering a safe environment for all our students. Support services and counseling will be made available to members of the community who may need assistance in processing this tragic event.
As we grieve, we also stand together-as one MSU community – seeking justice, demanding accountability, and reaffirming our commitment to protect the dignity and safety of all our students.
