MSU-GenSan holds 2-Day SPMS Training to strengthen performance accountability

The Mindanao State University – General Santos conducted a two-day Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) Training on Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) and Division/Department Performance Commitment and Review (DPCR) on April 13–14, 2026, at Venue 88 Hotel and Events Place.

The initiative underscores the University’s commitment to reinforcing a results-driven culture, ensuring that individual and office performance are aligned with institutional goals, while strengthening accountability and quality service.

On Day 1, Ms. Mariam Amabelle C. Salcedo, Chief Human Resource Specialist CSC Regional Office XII delivered a comprehensive overview of the SPMS, followed by the Office Performance Commitment and Review presentation by Prof. Monlouie M. Sorzano, Campus Secretary.

The afternoon session focused on workshop orientation and hands-on activities on DPCR and IPCR, facilitated by Ms. Edna C. Nebrija-Mahinay,
Director II, CSC Field Office of Sarangani , which included presentation of outputs and an open forum.

Day 2 continued with guided workshops, allowing participants to refine their outputs and ensure alignment of individual and departmental targets with the University’s strategic priorities.

In his message, Chancellor Shidik T. Abantas emphasized the importance of treating performance evaluation as a meaningful process anchored on accountability and results.“Most agencies treat IPCR and DPCR as mere compliance, but for us in the University, these are essential in assessing whether our deliverables are truly met and our commitments are fulfilled,” he said.

He also highlighted that performance management should go beyond submission and compliance, encouraging personnel to engage in honest evaluation and alignment of their outputs with institutional goals.

Through this initiative, MSU-General Santos continues to advance a culture of accountability and excellence, empowering its workforce to deliver meaningful outcomes and sustain the University’s growth and development.
