The Mindanao State University–General Santos community convened for its weekly flag-raising ceremony on June 22, 2026, hosted by the Budget and Management Office and the Center for Women’s Studies.
In his message, Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MDM, LLM, commended MSU–GenSan students for their initiative in organizing donation drives and relief efforts for communities affected by the recent earthquake, highlighting their compassion and volunteerism as a reflection of the true MSUan spirit.
“Our students have shown that even in difficult times, they choose to extend their hands to those in need. This spirit of service and empathy reminds us that hope is sustained when communities stand together,” the Chancellor said, emphasizing resilience and unity amid adversity.
He also extended gratitude to MSU campuses, government agencies, private institutions, organizations, offices, and individuals who provided support to MSU–GenSan, stressing that recovery is made possible through collective action and shared compassion.
The ceremony underscored the University’s continuing commitment to solidarity and resilience in the face of challenges.
