Mindanao State University–General Santos officially welcomed the holiday season through its annual “Sidlak Kalinaw” Grand Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 1, 2025, at Centennial Lane.
The event brought together students, faculty, staff, and administrators for a vibrant celebration that emphasized unity and the spirit of community across the campus. The program featured inspiring messages, lively performances, exciting raffle draws, a fireworks display, and the highly anticipated lighting of the Christmas tree.
Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas shared a heartfelt message with the MSU-Gensan community, reminding everyone of the true meaning of the season: “As we celebrate Christmas and the close of another year, I wish each of you peace, warmth, and renewed strength. May your homes be filled with joy, and may the blessings of this season accompany you and your loved ones throughout the year ahead.”
As the Christmas tree lit up Centennial Lane with brilliant colors, it symbolized not only the start of the festive season but also a renewed sense of togetherness and camaraderie within the MSU-Gensan community.
