Mindanao State University General Santos formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 3, 2026, at the Chancellor’s Office for the hosting of the International Symposium and 43rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Association of Systematic Biologists of the Philippines (ASBP) set on June 2–4, 2026.
In his message, Chancellor Shidik T. Abantas underscored the University’s strong commitment to advancing research and strengthening collaborations, “Hosting this symposium is a testament to MSU-GenSan’s commitment to research and collaboration. We look forward to fostering meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities that will advance science and education in the region,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Eric Zeus C. Rizo, President of the Association of Systematic Biologists of the Philippines, conveyed his appreciation to the University for the partnership, “On behalf of the Association of Systematic Biologists of the Philippines, we are very happy to be partnering with MSU-GenSan. I hope this will open up many opportunities and bring experts from different parts of the country here in Mindanao,” Dr. Rizo shared.
The upcoming symposium is expected to gather researchers, scientists, and experts from across the Philippines, further positioning MSU-GenSan as a hub for academic excellence and scientific collaboration in the region.
