House committee has approved House Bill No. 00940, sponsored by Cong. Shirlyn Bañas, which seeks to establish an independent College of Law at Mindanao State University–General Santos, allowing the university to operate its own College of Law under the supervision of the MSU Board of Regents.
The proposed College of Law will offer Juris Doctor and postgraduate law programs and will also institutionalize Legal Aid services aimed at providing free legal assistance to communities and helping strengthen the local justice sector.
