The MSU Chorale made history with its first-ever major concert, Harmony in Motion: Ani ng Himig, Diwa ng Sining, held at the MSU COM Auditorium on February 25, 2026.
The event marked a milestone in the university’s musical journey, showcasing the chorale’s artistry and the enduring spirit of Filipino music.
Under the masterful direction of Mr. Gideon Almocera, the chorale brought to life a repertoire that celebrated identity, culture, and community. The evening resonated with heartfelt harmonies, powerful crescendos, and songs that reflected the message: “Ito ay atin, sariling atin—at sa habang-buhay awitin natin.”
Adding vibrant color to the concert were the dynamic performances of the Kabpapagariya Ensemble (KE), whose artistry deepened the emotional connection between performers and audience.
Prior to the concert, an art exhibit featuring the works of young Joleen Flores was inaugurated along with the launching of the commemorative coffee table book of KE.
Mounted in celebration of National Arts Month 2026, the concert also stood as a tribute to the cultivation of music, culture, and creative expression at the university. More than just a performance, it was a declaration that the music of MSU–GenSan is alive and deeply rooted in its community.
