Mindanao State University – General Santos marked a significant milestone from February 26 to 28 with the successful completion of its Level 3 Phase 2 Area VI Revisit, reflecting the dedication of its faculty, staff, and academic leaders to continuous improvement and institutional excellence.
In her welcome message, Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, highlighted that quality in higher education is a continuous process of self-assessment, enhancement, and innovation, requiring strong institutional commitment, as exemplified by MSU–GenSan.
The revisit involved the accredited programs, BS Biology and BA Filipino, together with their Deans, Assistant Deans, and Extension Coordinators. Prof. Monsour A. Pelmin, Director of QuAMSO, introduced the key officials, members of the accreditation taskforce, and focal persons, ensuring coordinated participation throughout the process.
During the evaluation, Dr. Alma B. Segismundo, AACCUP Accreditor from University of Northern Philippines, commended MSU–GenSan’s progress in Area VI since the previous visit. She highlighted Science Community Connect and IPagtuturo as impactful community initiatives and recognized the dedication of faculty, staff, students, administrators, and partner communities. She also encouraged further developments in sustainability and institutional partnerships, emphasizing that accreditation is a continuous pursuit of excellence.
The successful revisit reaffirms MSU–GenSan’s commitment to quality education and meaningful community engagement, sustaining a shared culture of excellence.
