MSU-GenSan holds ceremony for new E-Classrooms and E-Laboratories

Mindanao State University–General Santos officially conducted the Turnover Ceremony of five (5) E-Classrooms and three (3) E-Laboratories for the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM), along with an E-Bulletin Board for the College of Education, on March 2, 2026, at the New CNSM Building.

The initiative forms part of the University’s continuing efforts to provide students with conducive and technology-driven learning environments that enhance instruction and academic engagement.

Delivering the welcome message on behalf of the ICTO Director Prof. Jose Trillo II, Mr. Acsan Asgar, Information System Analyst of the ICT Office, welcomed university officials, faculty members, staff, and partners from Lancaster Technology and Development. He emphasized that the project is anchored on strengthening the University’s digital infrastructure and creating classrooms equipped to meet the demands of modern education.
The formal turnover of the project was led by Engr. Christian Jay Viray of Lancaster Technology and Development, marking the completion of the newly equipped CNSM E-Classrooms and Physics Laboratory facilities.

In his acceptance message, Chancellor Shidik T. Abantas, MDM, LLM, shared that the newly launched facilities are part of a larger university-wide initiative, noting that 56 E-Classrooms are currently ongoing across the campus.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Mishell D. Laawas highlighted the importance of continuously improving academic facilities to complement the University’s strong academic foundation. “Academic quality cannot be measured by the quality of students and buildings alone. It must also be reflected in a responsive and relevant curriculum that addresses the needs of the community. However, facilities like these are very basic and essential for an institution,” Dr. Laawas underscored.

The ceremony reaffirmed MSU-GenSan’s commitment to advancing academic excellence through infrastructure development and strategic partnerships.
