Mindanao State University–General Santos successfully concluded its ISO 21001:2018 Stage 2 Audit on May 15, 2026, marking another significant milestone in the university’s continuing pursuit of institutional excellence and globally aligned educational management systems.
With this achievement, MSU–GenSan has been officially recommended for ISO 21001:2018 Certification, reflecting the collective dedication, preparedness, and unwavering commitment of the entire university community toward fostering quality educational management and internationally aligned standards.
The five-day audit evaluated the implementation, effectiveness, and sustainability of the university’s Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) across colleges, graduate programs, administrative offices, student support services, and university facilities. Throughout the audit process, academic units and offices presented their operational systems, learner-centered services, documentation processes, and quality assurance practices aligned with international standards.
The audit was conducted by the TÜV Rheinland audit team composed of Mary Grace Balobalo as Audit Leader, together with auditors Tengku Hermansya and Abdul Manan Aruli. During the closing program, the audit team formally presented the audit findings, highlighting observations, commendations, and recommendations gathered throughout the five-day evaluation process.
Following the presentation of findings, Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas delivered his response, expressing gratitude to the auditors, university officials, faculty members, staff, and quality assurance focal persons for their collective dedication and cooperation throughout the audit journey. “This achievement is a testament to the unity and hard work of the entire MSU–GenSan community.”
To formally conclude the activity, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Randy P. Asturias also delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, and institutional commitment in sustaining quality educational services and advancing the university’s culture of excellence.
The successful completion of the Stage 2 Audit reflects the collective effort and commitment of the entire MSU–GenSan community under the leadership of Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, together with the Vice Chancellors, university officials, faculty members, staff, and support personnel. This milestone was further strengthened through the efforts of the Quality Assurance Management Services Office headed by Prof. Monsour A. Pelmin and the ISO 21001:2018 implementation team led by Asst. Prof. Reynald Alpajando.
More than achieving ISO 21001:2018 certification, this accomplishment symbolizes the university’s unwavering commitment to fostering learner-centered education and continuously improving the quality of services provided to its stakeholders and academic community.
