MSU-GenSan conducts ISO Top Management Ocular Visit in preparation for Stage 2 Audit

Mindanao State University – General Santos conducted an ISO Top Management Ocular Inspection on May 4, 2026, as part of its preparations for the upcoming ISO 21001:2018 Stage 2 Audit. The activity aimed to assess institutional readiness and reinforce compliance with international quality standards.

The program opened with welcome remarks from Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, who emphasized the importance of the activity in the university’s preparation efforts. “This is an exercise we look forward to, this ocular visit allows us to see, observe, and comply for the big day next week. It reflects and signifies our collective commitment,” she shared.

In his message, University Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas called for active participation and unity among all members of the university. “I’m expecting everyone to participate. We have to be united in this journey,” he stated, highlighting the shared responsibility in achieving the institution’s quality assurance goals.

The introduction of key officials was led by Dr. Monsour A. Pelmin, Director of the Quality Assurance Management Services Office, followed by the presentation of the audit plan by Asst. Prof. Reynald Alpajando, ISO 21001:2018 Implementation Specialist. The presentation outlined the framework, processes, and expectations for the upcoming Stage 2 evaluation.

Throughout the day, the top management conducted visits across various offices and colleges to check their level of preparedness. These visits focused on reviewing documents, observing workflows, and ensuring that units are aligned with ISO standards and requirements. The activity provided an opportunity to identify gaps, and reinforce compliance among different units.

In his closing remarks, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Randy P. Asturias reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continuous improvement and readiness for the audit.

The ISO Top Management Ocular Visit underscores MSU-GenSan’s dedication to strengthening its systems and ensuring quality education through collaborative effort and institutional accountability.
