Mindanao State University–General Santos formally inaugurated the newly relocated Chancellor’s Office through a turnover ceremony held at the Administratioon Building, 2nd Floor on April 22, 2026.
The program opened with the presentation of the Project Completion Report by Engr. Randy P. Asturias, Vice Chancellor for Planning ang Development , who emphasized the project’s role in enhancing administrative functions and supporting the university’s expanding operations.
This was followed by the contractor’s message and the formal turnover of documents and keys, signifying the completion of the facility.
The acceptance of the project was led by Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, who underscored the significance of the Chancellor’s Office as a representation of institutional leadership. “The Office of the Chancellor is not just a space, it is a symbol of authority and leadership of the university. When you enter, you should feel that leadership is present.”
He further highlighted that the office is designed not for personal use, but as a lasting institutional space that reflects the university’s identity and commitment to excellence.
The ceremony continued with the ribbon-cutting, officially opening the facility, followed by a photo opportunity with university officials and stakeholders.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Shaadodin T. Abantas, Chief of Staff, expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful completion of the project, noting its significance as part of the university’s continuing development efforts. “Excellence is never about perfection, it is a work in progress, day by day”, he said.
The turnover ceremony marks another milestone in the university’s commitment to strengthening its administrative infrastructure and reinforcing a culture of leadership and continuous improvement.
