Mindanao State University–General Santos, through the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH), held the CSSH Mini Theater Turnover Ceremony and Pagpugay at Pasasalamat on July 8, marking the inauguration of the College’s newly renovated Mini Theater while honoring the retirement of Dr. Debbie M. Cruspero.
In his message, Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MDM, LLM, described the project as part of the University’s continuing infrastructure development.
“This is only the start of our continued and ongoing renovation and retrofitting of CSSH,” the Chancellor said, emphasizing that the initiative aims not only to beautify the College but also to provide practical spaces that support its programs.
Accepting the facility on behalf of the College, CSSH Dean Dr. Mario J. Aguja said the Mini Theater will help strengthen the College’s international commitments while giving students a venue for various academic and co-curricular activities.
The turnover ceremony was followed by Wika, Pluma at Pamana: Isang Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat, a retirement program honoring Dr. Debbie M. Cruspero for her years of dedicated service to the University.
Faculty members Prof. Luz Doce and Dr. Berlita Y. Disca delivered heartfelt tribute messages, recognizing Dr. Cruspero’s unwavering commitment to teaching, and also shared their friendship stories.
During the program, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Mishell D. Lawas described the occasion as a memorable milestone for the University community, while Chancellor Abantas commended Dr. Cruspero’s lasting contributions to the institution.
“I extend my deepest and warmest congratulations to you on your retirement. Your dedication has left an indelible mark on your students and the University as a whole,” the Chancellor said before the awarding of the Plaque of Recognition.
The celebration concluded with Dr. Cruspero’s message of gratitude and a community song performed by the Filipino Department.
