Mindanao State University – General Santos entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for the Edukar Scholarship Program with the Local Government Unit of General Santos City (LGU-GenSan) on February 9, 2026, at Kastifun Hall, General Santos City. Representing Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MDM, LLM, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Norman Ralph B. Isla, attended the formal signing ceremony hosted by City Mayor Hon. Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao, along with other city officials and personnel.
As one of the long-standing partner institutions, MSU–GenSan participated in the continued collaboration among nineteen (19) Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) involved in the Edukar Scholarship Program. The initiative provides educational assistance to students in General Santos City and aims to expand access to quality higher education by covering school-related fees and offering financial support to scholars.
During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Isla delivered a message of partnership to LGU-GenSan on behalf of the partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). He emphasized the importance of scholarship programs in supporting students’ academic goals and contributing to the city’s long-term development. He also expressed appreciation for the sustained support extended by the City Government to its partner institutions.
The University remains grateful for the continued support of the Local Government Unit of General Santos City and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening this partnership in delivering free and accessible education, fostering excellence, and supporting student development.
