Commitment to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Mindanao State University – General Santos (MSU GenSan) fully supports Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. We believe that sustainable use of resources is key to protecting our planet and securing the well-being of future generations.

MSU GenSan promotes environmental responsibility through education, research, and campus practices that encourage efficient resource use, waste reduction, and circular economy principles. We integrate sustainability into our curricula, helping students understand the environmental and social impacts of consumption patterns.

Our extension programs engage communities in sustainable livelihood projects, eco-friendly farming, waste management, and awareness campaigns on reducing plastic use and food waste. Internally, we are working toward making the university a model of green practices through proper waste segregation, energy conservation, and sustainable procurement.

Through innovation, advocacy, and community involvement, MSU GenSan continues to inspire a culture of sustainability—one where every decision counts in building a cleaner, more responsible future.
