Mindanao State University–General Santos formally received its recognition as a ranked institution in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026 during the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2026 held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
MSU–GenSan secured a place within the 1001–1500 bracket among 1,603 higher education institutions worldwide, affirming the University’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through quality education, impactful research, innovation, and meaningful community engagement.
Representing the University at the international congress and receiving the recognition on behalf of MSU–GenSan were Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Dr. Christine Dawn G. Obemio, Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension and Innovation; and Dr. Norman Ralph B. Isla, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services, and Dr. Monsour Pelmin, Director of the Quality Assurance and Management Services Office.
The recognition underscores MSU–GenSan’s commitment to sustainability, inclusive education, impactful research, and partnerships that advance sustainable development at the local and global levels.
