Mindanao State University–General Santos marked a significant step toward sustainable campus mobility with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the operation of electric tricycle (e-trike) transport services within the university premises. The initiative is a collaborative venture between the university and the MSU–GenSan Multipurpose Cooperative on April 6, 2026.
In his welcome message, Dean Mario Aguja of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) said, “The e-trike service is not only a great step for the environment, reducing emissions and supporting sustainable transport, but also a strong collaboration with our cooperative here to support our campus community.”
Meanwhile, Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas expressed strong support for the initiative, stating, “I am hopeful that this initiative will be successful as it aligns with our development toward a smart and sustainable campus. The e-trike system is a cleaner, quieter, and eco-friendly solution that benefits everyone on campus.”
The implementation of e-trike services within MSU–General Santos is expected to enhance campus mobility while reinforcing the university’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Through this initiative, MSU–GenSan continues to move forward in building an environmentally responsible and future-ready academic community.
