MSU System President Atty. Paisalin P. Tago, CPA, visited Mindanao State University–General Santos on June 13, 2026, to personally assess the impact of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that affected General Santos City and neighboring areas on June 8.
During the visit, University officials briefed the President on the extent of damage sustained by campus facilities and the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and welfare of students, faculty, and staff. The visit also provided an opportunity to evaluate immediate needs and discuss measures to support the University’s
recovery and rehabilitation initiatives.
President Tago reaffirmed the commitment of the MSU System to stand with the MSU–General Santos community during this challenging time and to work closely with University officials in addressing the effects of the disaster and restoring affected infrastructure.
MSU–GSC remains steadfast in its mission of delivering quality education while pursuing recovery efforts and strengthening campus resilience in the aftermath of the earthquake.
